The Air Fryer has quickly become one of our favorite way to cook certain things, and chicken is definitely one of them.

Spoiler: this Air Fryer Chicken Breast is outstanding.

I started with a simple seasoning based on this Slow Cooker Chicken Breast and these Pan Fried Chicken Breasts — when you’ve got a good thing going, why change it?!

They turn out perfectly every time, and are almost completely hands off (other than a couple minutes prep!).

Love a crispy coating? You might want to try these Air Fryer Chicken Tenders or Air Fryer Fried Chicken!

I’m sharing all my tips and tricks below to make sure your air fryer chicken turns out just the way you want it!

Why we love to cook chicken breasts in the air fryer:

  • I mean, they’re perfect: they come out with the perfect combination of golden on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside!
  • Less babysitting: I don’t have to worry about them burning, or sticking, or overcooking like I do when I’m cooking them in a skillet.
  • You don’t have to heat up the oven: while I love my Baked Chicken Breasts, you do need to turn on the oven. In the summer time, why not air fry them instead? It’s more energy efficient and they cook up super quick!
  • They’re great for meal prep: whether you just want some cooked chicken for sandwiches, salads, or easy lunches, they’re easy enough that you can make a batch on the weekend and enjoy them over the next few days.

See what people are saying!

“Thank you for sharing this recipe. I used the seasonings you show in the recipe and it turned out great. It was golden brown on the outside and very juicy inside. Great flavor and a great recipe for one!!!” Marie

“This is the first air fryer recipe I have used. I was intimidated by 1) cooking and 2) using my new air fryer. This recipe came out perfect! My kids and hubby loved it. Thank you!” CM

How long do I cook chicken breast in the air fryer?

Well, it depends!

It depends on your air fryer temperature and how thick your chicken breasts are.

I like to cook my chicken breasts for a shorter time at a higher temperature, so I opt for 400 degrees F for a cook time of 10-15 minutes.

uncooked chicken breasts in air fryer.

The exact cook time is hard to tell, and will depend on the size and shape of your chicken breast.

For better results, you can use a heavy rolling pin or flat meat mallet to flatten any thicker parts of your chicken breasts so that they cook more evenly — although I don’t usually go through this extra step.

And always be sure to check the internal temperature with an instant read thermometer to ensure it reaches 165 degrees F.

Is air fryer chicken healthy?

Air fryer Chicken Breasts aren’t really any healthier than chicken breasts that are cooked with the same ingredients on the stove top, in the oven, or in the slow cooker.

The air fryer is a healthier method than deep frying food, so this air fryer chicken breast is healthier than deep fried chicken, but that’s not really an equal comparison.

That being said, chicken breasts are still a lean protein option, and we love cooking them in the air fryer because they are the juiciest we’ve ever had! (Check out this photo taken right after I sliced them!)

two slices of juice air fryer chicken breast on white board.

Variations on this Air Fryer Chicken Breast recipe:

  • Swap breasts for thighs: you can swap boneless, skinless chicken thighs for the chicken breasts in the recipe and you won’t need to change the recipe much — I would set your air fryer timer for 8 minutes and then check for doneness with a meat thermometer, as they are usually smaller than chicken breasts. (I also recommend checking out this Air Fryer Chicken Thighs recipe!)
  • Swap the seasoning: have a go-to seasoning blend of spices you love? It will work perfectly here! Think garlic herb, cajun, barbecue, taco, Greek — any dry blend can be substituted. Just sprinkle on both sides evenly before cooking.

How do you keep chicken breast from drying out in the Air Fryer?

That’s easy! Just be sure to cook it until it’s done, and not more than that.

Chicken breasts dry out when they are overcooked because they are so lean, so the best way to have juicy Air Fryer Chicken Breasts is to use a meat thermometer to watch the internal temperature (165 degrees F is what you’re looking for!).

Air Fryer Chicken Breast

This Air Fryer Chicken Breast is perfectly seasoned and incredibly juicy! It is golden and crispy on the outside and SO flavorful!
Course Main Course
Cuisine American
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 17 minutes
Servings 2 servings
Calories 194cal

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees according to manufacturer's instructions if your air fryer requires preheating (I simply turn mine to 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes while I prepare the chicken)
  • Pat chicken dry and rub with canola oil.
  • In a small bowl, combine salt, parsley, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and paprika. Sprinkle over both sides of the chicken.
  • Lightly spray the inside of the air fryer basket with non stick spray and place the chicken breasts in the bottom.
  • Place the basket inside the air fryer and set the cook time for 12 minutes (a couple minutes more or less depending on the size of your chicken breasts — keeping in mind you can always easily add more time but you can't take it away).
  • At the end of the cook time, check the internal temperature of the thickest part of the chicken with a meat thermometer to ensure it has reached 165 degrees F. If it has not, return it to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes until cooked through.
  • Allow to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips for cooking with an air fryer:

  • Think of your air fryer as a countertop convection oven — it can do many of the same things!
  • Most air fryers need to be preheated just like your oven. Check your manufacturer’s guide for instructions, but a good a rule of thumb is 5-10 minutes at the temperature you’ll be cooking at.
  • Similar to cooking in the oven on convection mode, cooking in the air fryer is even faster than cooking in a regular oven. Some foods will cook up to twice as fast, so don’t be afraid to open up the basket and have a peek.
  • Cooking in a single layer is best when possible, because it will allow the food to cook and brown evenly.
  • Avoid aerosol non stick spray as it can damage your non stick basket. Opt instead for a brush of olive oil or other oil spray.

Air Fryer Recipes FAQs

What tools can I use in my air fryer:

You can use any tool in your air fryer that you can use in your oven — that means, parchment paper, foil, baking pans and casserole dishes or ramekins are all fair game!

How does an Air Fryer work?

An air fryer essentially has two important pieces: a heating element and a fan. When you put food into the basket (or on the racks, in an oven-style air fryer) and turn it on, the element heats and the fan forces the air around. This results in more even browning that other cooking methods, but with less oil for and a shorter bake time.

What’s the first thing I should cook in my air fryer?

That depends on what you like! Our two favorites are Air Fryer Chicken Breast and Air Fryer Baked Potatoes — both recipes are above!

What is the best air fryer?

That depends on what you like! We have tried three or four different air fryers over the years, we found that we prefer the basket style over the oven style with the racks. We now own two Chefman air fryers, a 3.7 quart TurboFry and an XL 8 quart TurboFry. We love them both!

These homemade Chicken Taquitos are packed with classic Mexican flavors, a juicy shredded chicken filling, healthy veggies, and melted cheese. Serve with your favorite Mexican sides or garnishes for an easy dinner recipe the whole family will love!

These Chicken Taquitos are perfect for just about any occasion, from busy weeknight dinners to appetizers for parties and Game Day.

They are tortilla wraps filled with shredded chicken, veggies, and cheese, in a creamy salsa sauce, that are cooked to a crispy perfection!

This recipe is a family favorite because it’s so easy to make, but also becasue we can enjoy our taquitos in different ways.

You can change up the meat, add rice or beans, use different garnishes, and serve them with different sides.

I’ve included 3 different ways of making them crispy as well – either in the oven, on the stovetop (you don’t need a deep fryer), or in the air fryer!

Try these crispy bites of delicious Mexican flavor tonight!

Ingredients Needed:

overhead shot of ingredients for chicken taquitos in glass bowls.
  • Oil: Olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, or another neutral-flavored oil will be good for sautéing the veggies.
  • Vegetables: Use an onion, green pepper, and red pepper for a fresh, savory flavor.
  • Chicken: I use raw, boneless, and skinless chicken breasts for these homemade taquitos. If you have leftover Shredded Chicken or Crockpot Shredded Chicken, feel free to use that instead!
  • Seasoning: one package of taco seasoning is enough for this recipe.
  • Salsa: choose a thick salsa (not too watery), mild, or spicy according to your tastes. Try my Homemade Salasa recipe, or even a Mango Salsa to mix the flavors up a bit!
  • Broth: I always use low sodium chicken broth to better control the saltiness of dishes.
  • Cream Cheese: use full-fat, plain cream cheese for the best flavor and creamiest texture.
  • Cheese: I’ve used cheddar cheese here, as it’s got a great flavor and melts really well.
  • Tortillas: I tend to use flour tortillas, but corn tortillas are a great gluten-free choice here if you prefer.
  • Garnish: use your favorite toppings like sour cream, shredded lettuce, chopped fresh cilantro, and chopped tomatoes.

How to Make Chicken Taquitos

This recipe is easy to make! Full instructions are included in the recipe card below.

  1. Sauté veggies: Sauté the onions and peppers until crisp-tender.
  2. Add chicken and season: Add the chicken breasts along with taco seasoning, salsa, and broth and cook.
  3. Shred chicken and add cream cheese: Remove the chicken from the pan and shred it, then stir it back into the pan with the cream cheese. Allow the cream cheese to melt.
  4. Assemble taquitos: Remove from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Divide the filling between 8-10 tortillas and sprinkle cheese on top. Roll them up tightly, ready to be cooked. Cook as desired: pan fry, bake or air fry! See more details in the recipe card.

Chicken Taquitos FAQs

Can I make chicken taquitos ahead of time?

You can make the filling up to a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Then simply divide it between the tortillas and bake them. I wouldn’t recommend storing assembled and uncooked taquitos in the refrigerator, as the wraps will go soggy. You can freeze them assembled, though; see below for more info.

How do I store this recipe?

Store your chicken taquito filling in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. You can also keep assembled and cooked chicken taquitos wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Allow everything to cool to room temperature before storing it. The longer the assembled taquitos are stored, the soggier they will become. I recommend storing with paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
To reheat them, place them on a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for about 15 minutes, or until they are heated through thoroughly and crispy on the outside. Alternately, reheat them in an air fryer for a couple of minutes.

Can I freeze this recipe?

This is a great freezer meal, so save it for your meal prep days! You can either freeze the filling or the assembled taquitos.
Place the filling or the assembled taquitos in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Remove the taquitos from the freezer and place them on a baking sheet or dish lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until heated through, turning once.

Chicken Taquitos Variations

  • Use different meat. You can swap the chicken breast for boneless, skinless chicken thighs or use ground chicken, ground turkey, or even ground beef for a different flavor and texture. This is a great recipe for using up leftover chicken as well, just
  • Make it vegetarian. Omit the meat and add in a can of black or white beans, sautéing and then mashing slightly for a vegetarian option. Alternatively, use refried beans.
  • Add rice. Add some Mexican rice or Instant Pot Brown Rice to make it go further.
  • Use any melty cheese. Pretty much any cheese will go well in these taquitos. Try Mozzarella cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, Pepper Jack cheese, a Mexican cheese blend, or another of your favorite melty cheeses!
  • Add spice. If your family is sensitive to spice, start with half a package of taco seasoning and adjust the seasoning after the chicken is shredded and cooked. Alternatively, to spice it up, add some cayenne pepper, chili powder, hot sauce, diced jalapenos, or sliced jalapenos to the wraps to make them spicier.

Serving Suggestions

Of course, you’ll be serving your homemade chicken taquitos with some yummy garnishes like freshly chopped cilantro, lemon wedges, . Why not try this Homemade Salasa recipe, or even a Mango Salsa to mix the flavors up a bit!

Serve some sides with classic Mexican food flavors like this Taco DipMini Mexican Wonton Quiches, or some Mexican rice.

You can also serve some extra veggies on the side for extra nutrients, try Corn on the Cob, or Air Fryer Green Beans.

Notes

Ingredients and Substitutions
Vegetables: feel free to skip the veggies or swap in ones you prefer. They do add loads of flavor! Without the vegetables, the yield will be less.
Chicken breast: you can swap the chicken breast for boneless skinless chicken thighs, or omit it and add in a can of black or white beans, sauteeing and then mashing slightly for a vegetarian option.
*Taco seasoning: If your family is sensitive to spice, start with half a package of taco seasoning and adjust the seasoning after the chicken is shredded and cooked.
Salsa: choose a thick salsa (not too watery), mild or spicy according to your tastes.
Tortillas: My tortillas are 7″ and I get about 8-10 taquitos depending on how much filling I cram in each one. If your tortillas are larger, or smaller, you will get a different yield.
Storage
  • Store Filling: Store your chicken taquito filling in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Store Cooked Taquitos: Keep assembled and cooked chicken taquitos wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Allow everything to cool to room temperature before storing it. The longer the assembled taquitos are stored, the soggy they will become.
  • To Reheat: To reheat chicken taquitos, place them on a baking sheet and spray with cooking spray. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for about 15 minutes, or until they are heated through thoroughly and crispy on the outside. Alternately, reheat them in an air fryer for a couple of minutes.
  • Freeze: You can either freeze the filling or the assembled taquitos. Place the filling or the assembled taquitos in a freezer bag or freezer-safe container and freeze for up to 3 months. Remove the taquitos from the freezer and place them on a baking sheet or dish lined with parchment paper. Cover with tinfoil and bake at 350 degrees F for about 40 minutes, removing the foil halfway through baking.

These Air Fryer Boneless Chicken Thighs are crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! With a simple seasoning, they are prepped and cook quickly!

air fryer boneless chicken thighs on white plate.

It’s no secret by now that the air fryer is one of my favorite ways to cook chicken!

After making these Air Fryer Chicken Breasts (the juiciest chicken we’ve ever eaten!) and these Air Fryer Chicken Wings, I knew it was time to throw some chicken thighs in there.

Air Fryer Chicken Thighs are so juicy and flavorful, and they cook so quickly that they have become a regular recipe in our rotation.

I like to throw a second batch in the air fryer while we are eating so we have lots of leftovers for quick meals through the week!

How to make Air Fryer Chicken Thighs:

  1. Choose your chicken thighs: see my tips below for boneless or bone in thighs!
  2. Preheat your air fryer: this ensures that your chicken cooks quickly and evenly.
  3. Stir together your seasoning while the air fryer preheats, or choose a favorite spice blend if you’re short on time
  4. Toss chicken with oil and season well — this ensures a crispy, flavorful exterior!
  5. Cook! Some people flip their chicken half way through cooking in the air fryer, but I haven’t ever found a need as my air fryer cooks pretty evenly. You can check yours at the 7 minute mark and adjust as necessary.

Bone in or boneless chicken thighs?

Chicken thighs are inexpensive, delicious and easy to cook. They are made of dark meat, so they are extra juicy!

I used boneless chicken thighs for this recipe, though we love bone in chicken thighs in the air fryer, too!

If you choose bone in chicken thighs, you can use the same seasoning and method, but your cook time will be longer, so be sure to use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.

close up image of boneless chicken thigh in air fryer.

How do I store leftover chicken?

Store cooked chicken thighs in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Leftover chicken is great for meal prepping and quick lunches!

Chop up leftover chicken and use it in this classic Chicken Noodle Soup or this Instant Pot Chicken and Dumplings!

Can I reheat chicken thighs in the air fryer?

Yes! Add ¼ water to the bottom of air fryer basket. Place refrigerated chicken in basket and cook for 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees.

We also like to make stir fry, casseroles or creamy pasta dishes with it!

What sides would go well with Air Fryer Chicken Thighs?

The options are almost endless! Here are a few of our favorites:

cooked turkey burger patties in black air fryer basket

Air Fryer Turkey Burgers are so easy to make! They’re made with simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry (plus the turkey!).

I love using my Air Fryer to make these healthy turkey burgers. I’ve found it’s the best way to get them to be just the right amount of crispy on the outside AND juicy on the inside.

Of course, you can make the patties and cook them on the grill if you’re having a BBQ, or even just finish them off on the grill to give them that smoky flavor. Either way, they are so delicious serve on a Homemade Hamburger Bun.

It’s one of those easy recipes I turn to when I’m too tired to cook a big meal but we’re all super hungry and need food quickly.

They’re a great make-ahead recipe as well because these burgers freeze so well.

Just wrap them individually (or flash freeze), pop them in a Ziploc bag in the freezer, and you can pull out a couple at a time when you need them.

You can even cook them in the air fryer from frozen in a few minutes.

This recipe is quick and easy, and fully customizable to whichever herbs or spices I fancy in the moment too. It’s every busy Mom’s dream recipe, and I know it’ll become a new family favorite!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Ground turkey: I like to use lean ground turkey for these burgers. See my air fryer burgers recipe if you have ground beef, and my chicken burger recipe if you have ground chicken.
  • BBQ sauce: use your favorite kind of BBQ Sauce depending on the flavors you want in your burgers. Choose something sweet, smoky, and savory with a bit of kick!
  • Red Onion: red onions have a slightly sweet but savory flavor which goes well in burgers.
  • Breadcrumbs: use fine breadcrumbs in these patties to bind the mince together.
  • Garlic: use garlic powder for a strong garlic flavor.
  • Seasoning Salt: I use Lawry’s seasoning salt, it’s a great blend of salt, herbs, and spices that works wonderfully on most meats.
  • Pepper: freshly ground black pepper will add a bit of a peppery spice to these burgers.

How to Make Air Fryer Turkey Burgers

These juicy air fryer turkey burgers are quick and easy to make. Full instructions are included in the recipe card below.

  1. Make meat mixture: Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl until just combined.

Air Fryer Turkey Burger FAQs

Do you have to flip turkey burgers in the air fryer?

You can flip turkey burgers over half-way through the cooking time if you wish to, but I never do and they always come out fine. It may depend on your type of air fryer (and it’s always a good idea to check them half way!).

How do I store air fryer turkey burgers?

Store cooked turkey patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Allow them to cool to room temperature before putting them in the fridge. Reheat in the air fryer for a couple of minutes until heated through.

Can I freeze turkey burgers?

These turkey burgers freeze perfectly!
You can make a double or triple batch to freeze, then cook one or two as needed right from frozen. Flash-freeze the burgers on a parchment-lined baking sheet, then store them in a zip-top freezer bag with parchment paper between each one to prevent them from sticking together.
You can also cook them in the air fryer from frozen, adding a couple of minutes to the cook time as needed.

Tips and Notes

  • The patties shrink as they cook. Burger patties shrink as they cook, so you want to make the patties just a bit larger than your buns if you’re wanting them to fill the buns.
  • Flavor. Add little bit of Worcestershire sauce or dijon mustard to the mince mixture for an even more flavorful burger,

Air Fryer Turkey Burger Variations

  • Mix up the meat. You can use this recipe to make burgers with ground beef (like in my Best Burgers recipe), ground lamb, or a meat-free ground meat alternative if you like.
  • BBQ Sauce: Try my Homemade BBQ Sauce, my Easy Homemade Dr. Pepper BBQ Sauce, this Easy Homemade Cherry BBQ Sauce, or my tangy Pineapple Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce.
  • Spice it up. Add red pepper flakes, chili powder, or finely chopped jalapeno peppers to the mince mix before making patties to give them a spicy kick!
  • Seasoning. Mixing up the seasoning with your favorite herbs and spices combinations.
  • Onion powder. Add some onion powder into the mixture for a stronger onion flavor, or substitute it for the raw onion in the burger.
  • Cheese. Serve topped with a slice of cheese. Use cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, or another of your favorite cheeses.
  • BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Turkey Buns. Use this burger mince with my recipe for BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Buns for a turkey variety of these tasty snacks.

Hashbrowns are one of my favorite things to eat with a cooked breakfast!

Having potatoes for breakfast or a lazy brunch just makes sense to me. They’re warm and comforting, and they fill me up for the day ahead.

If I have the time, I’ll make my Breakfast Potatoes, but this air fryer hash browns recipe is the quick and easy way to go to get that delicious, crispy potato I love with Air Fryer Crispy Bacon.

This Air Fryer Hash Browns recipe is a quick and easy way to cook hashbrown patties from frozen!

Air Frying is the best way I have found to cook frozen hash browns to get them crisp on the outside and soft on the inside without having to fuss with the oven!

You just need some olive oil spray, your frozen hash browns, and a pinch of salt to taste!

If you love breakfast foods, you might also like this Hashbrown Casserole — it has a cornflake topping that adds extra crunch– or these delicious Hashbrown Breakfast Burritos that only take 30 minutes to make!

Ingredients Needed:

  • Hash Brown Patties – Use frozen store-bought ones (or go all out and make some from scratch!)
  • Salt – Kosher salt or sea salt will work well to season the hashbrowns.

How to Cook Frozen Hashbrown Patties In Air Fryer

These Air Fryer Hash Brown Patties are quick and easy to make. Full instructions are included in the recipe card below.

  1. Put hashbrowns in the basket. Place hash brown patties in a single layer in the basket of a preheated and greased air fryer. Season if desired.
  2. Air Fry. Cook until golden brown.

Air Fryer Hash Brown FAQs

Do I need to preheat my air fryer?

Generally speaking, yes, your air fryer needs to be preheated just like your oven. The good news is that it will only take about 5 minutes to preheat it fully, just set it to the temperature you will be cooking at and set the timer to 5 minutes.

Which oil is best to use in an air fryer?

Use full-fat cooking oil with a high smoke point or a non-aerosol oil spray in your air fryer. Low-fat oils aren’t good for your air fryer, but since you’re only using a small amount of oil it’s generally a healthier way of cooking foods anyway. Avocado oil, vegetable oil, and canola oil are all good options. Try and find a decent cooking spray version of your favorite oil to easily coat the basket evenly in oil.

Can I cook fresh hash browns in the air fryer?

Of course! Cook your freshly made hashbrowns in the air fryer, in the same way. Cooking time may vary depending on how cooked the potatoes were before air frying them.

How do I store hash brown patties?

Leftover hash browns can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Allow them to cool to room temperature before putting them in the fridge.
You can reheat them in the air fryer to crisp them back up.

air fryer hash brown patty being dipped into ketchup bowl.

Tips and Notes

  • Cooking oil spray. You don’t need a lot of oil to cook in the air fryer. Getting a decent cooking oil spray is a great way to evenly spread a little oil over the air fryer basket without having to brush or wipe it on.
  • Parchment paper. You can line your air fryer basket with parchment paper if you wish, for super easy cleanup. Use air fryer parchment paper that has holes in it that will let the hot air of the air fryer circulate.
  • Give them space. For best results, make sure to put some space in between your hashbrown patties so that the air can circulate through them and they cook evenly.

Air Fryer Hashbrown Patties Variations

  • Seasoning. Add seasonings to suit your personal preference. I would recommend at least adding a bit of salt, but you could so add garlic powder, onion powder, or spices like paprika or chili powder to bring a bit of extra flavor and a bit of a kick to your cooked breakfast!
  • Homemade Hash Browns. Making your own homemade hash browns is super simple (you need fresh potatoes and a box grater!), and it means you can mix your seasonings straight into the potatoes.
  • Hashbrown Pancakes. Use a deconstructed hashbrown mix (basically just frozen shredded potatoes) to make a hashbrown in a pancake shape in your air fryer. Simply pour the hashbrown mix into the bottom of the air fryer basket in an even layer and increase the cooking time to about 20 minutes.

baked potatoes in air fryer basket.

All right, here’s the truth.

Baked potatoes aren’t really something I crave. Give me these Roasted Potatoes, give me a big bowl of these Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes, give me the entire pan of these Scalloped Potatoes instead.

Baked potatoes?

They just never seemed very special, until I made them in the Air Fryer.

Air Fryer Baked Potatoes have a few things going for them: they are super easy and mostly hands off (no watching or flipping or stressing).

They have the crispiest skin of any baked potatoes I’ve ever eaten, with a perfectly fluffy interior to match.

baked potato in air fryer basket cut open with butter.

Pop it open and drop a dollop of salted butter inside with some cheese and crispy bacon?

Heaven. Especially when they’re served with this JUICY Air Fryer Chicken Breast, topped with some Crockpot Shredded Chicken and barbecue sauce, or with a pile of this Instant Pot Whole Chicken.

Let me show you how to make them!

No Air Fryer? Check out my oven Baked Potato recipe.

How to make an Air Fryer Baked Potato:

  1. Start with russet potatoes — they are the must-have potato for classic baked potatoes, but other potatoes cooked in this fashion will still be delicious.
  2. Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly — potatoes need a good scrub before you consume them, but things that are wet don’t crisp up. So we need to wash them well and then dry them thoroughly with a towel.
  3. Oil and season — while water won’t brown, oil is going to give us that incredibly crispy golden skin that cracks when we slice it. Rub the potatoes all over with canola oil (it has a high smoke point) and season liberally with salt and pepper.
  4. Preheat your air fryer if needed — I always set mine to temperature for about 5-8 minutes before I want to put the food in so it goes in hot. We don’t want our food to sit in limbo while the air fryer heats up.
  5. Cook — put the potatoes in the basket, slide it in and cook for about 40 minutes. The exact cook time will depend on the size of your potatoes, but the great thing about the air fryer is that you can pull the basket out and check earlier if your potatoes are small, or you can turn it on for another 5-10 minutes if you find they’re not quite done.

Should I wrap my baked potatoes in foil?

No!

Wrapping potatoes creates a steamy environment and the best part of an Air Fryer Baked Potato is that crispy skin.

Skip the foil, and save yourself a few extra minutes of prep, too!

Do I need to prick my potatoes before air frying?

It’s up to you.

When the steam in the potatoes tries to escape, it can cause your potatoes to “explode” or burst a hole out the side.

I don’t, and I haven’t had issues with mine exploding.

That being said, it’s an easy thing to do and won’t change your finished results, so if you are worried about it, you can definitely poke a hole into each one.

These deliciously crisp and cheesy Air Fryer Quesadillas are packed with colorful air-fried vegetables, mixed with classic Mexican seasonings, and melty cheese. Ready in just 13 minutes, this simple recipe is perfect for a quick lunch or an easy weeknight meal for the whole family.

Slices of quesadilla stacked on plate with a bowl of sour cream and salsa beside it.

One of the best things about these quesadillas is that they are a great way to add more vegetables to mealtimes.

You can easily customize these easy air fryer quesadillas with your favorite fillings.

This recipe uses onions and bell peppers, but you could add tomatoes, zucchini, and loads of other veggies!

Ready in just minutes, this easy recipe is great as a quick snack, lunch or light dinner for adults and little kids too.

In my opinion, the best part of quesadillas is the melted cheese oozing from inside the crispy tortillas. I tend to use either shredded cheddar cheese or a Mexican cheese blend in mine because they go with just about any filling, but you can get as creative as you like.

No air fryer? Try my stovetop Cheese Quesadilla!

Close up photo of cheesy quesadillas slices on a plate on a grey plate.

Experiment with different proteins by adding in refried beans, or black beans. Using a combination of Mexican flavors with ground beef is a creative way to enjoy tacos, like in my amazing Taco Pizza.

Quesadillas are so handy and versatile, we love them in our house for all sorts of meals and snacks. Juicy Chicken Quesadillas are great for dinnertime, as are these Honey & Lime Chicken Quesadillas.

Try an Easy Breakfast Quesadilla recipe that is perfect for a quick and filling start to the day. My Strawberry Cheesecake Quesadillas are delicious and make a sweet and simple dessert.

Ingredients Needed:

Overhead view of ingredients in glass bowls for air fryer quesadillas.
  • Vegetables: we’re using bell peppers and onion in this Mexican quesadilla.
  • Green Onions: finely chopped green onions will add a fresh tang to the cheese and veggies.
  • Cheese: shredded cheese of any kind is good. I tend to use cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, or a Mexican cheese mix.
  • Tortillas: use flour or corn tortillas, whichever you prefer.
  • Oil: use canola oil or another neutral-flavored oil for seasoning the veggies, and a non-aerosol non-stick spray will work well for the Air Fryer as it will coat the basket evenly with a thin layer of oil.
  • Seasoning: taco seasoning contains classic Mexican flavors which are perfect for these cheesy veggie quesadillas.
  • Salt: enhances all the savory flavors.

How to Make Quesadillas in the Air Fryer

These homemade quesadillas are ready in just a few simple steps. Full instructions are included in the recipe card below.

  1. Cook the vegetables: Cook seasoned vegetables in a foil “bowl” at the bottom of the air fryer.
  2. Prepare air fryer and put tortilla in: Spray non-stick oil into the air fryer basket and place one tortilla in.
  3. Add fillings: Put some cheese on the tortilla, then add veggies, and the chopped spring onion on top.
  4. Top with cheese: Add more cheese on top of the fillings, then top with the second tortilla. The cheese layers will bind everything together.

Then you simply cook them until perfectly crisp, and repeat for the second quesadilla!

Air Fryer Quesadillas FAQs

How long does it take to Air Fry quesadillas?

It takes between 6-8 minutes to air fry a quesadilla, turning it over halfway through the cooking time to get full crispy perfection!

Are quesadillas better with oil or butter?

Cooking with oil will make the crispiest quesadillas, but you can cook with butter if you prefer a buttery taste.
To cook with oil in an Air Fryer, spray the Air Fryer basket with non-stick cooking oil and put the quesadilla in the basket. Alternatively, you can brush the outside of the quesadilla with oil before putting it in the basket to cook. Similarly, you can thinly coat the outsides of the quesadilla with butter before frying or air frying it.

How do I store quesadillas?

Ensure your quesadillas have completely cooled to room temperature before storing them. You can put them in an airtight container, or wrap them tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

How do I reheat a quesadilla?

It’s best to reheat leftover quesadillas in a preheated Air Fryer (350 degrees). If your quesadilla is wrapped in foil, it’ll take about 3-5 minutes to reheat. Unwrapped, it will take around 2-3 minutes to heat through.

Tips and Notes

  • Secure the top. You can secure the top tortilla to the rest of the quesadilla with a toothpick or two if you need it, as it can sometimes come loose in the air fryer as the hot air circulates quickly. You may want to do this if you are using dry fillings or not a lot of cheese.
  • Flip your quesadilla. Make sure to flip your quesadilla halfway through cooking so that it cooks evenly and gets crispy on both sides.

Air Fryer Quesadilla Variations

  • Mix up the veggies. Use your favorite vegetables in these quesadillas, like zucchini, black olives, tomatoes, sweetcorn, etc.
  • Add some heat. Add some red pepper flakes, hot sauce, or cayenne pepper to your veggies before putting them in the tortillas.
  • Try different seasonings. Try a different seasoning like Italian herbs with oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, and marjoram.
  • Change the cheese. Serve topped with some parmesan or mozzarella cheese.
  • Add protein. I love quesadillas with meats. Try this Instant Pot Shredded Chicken, Alfredo Chicken Quesadillas, or use this Instant Pot Taco Ground Beef recipe. They also taste great with refried beans!

Serving Suggestions

You can serve these air fryer quesadillas with my Easy Homemade Salsa, or this Fresh Taco Dip for a fuller meal. Sometimes I make quesadillas and slice them up to serve with sour cream as a snack or as part of a party table spread.

Air Fryer Quesadilla

These deliciously crisp and cheesy Air Fryer Quesadillas are packed with colorful air-fried vegetables, mixed with classic Mexican seasonings, and melty cheese!
Course Air fryer, Appetizer, Main Course
Cuisine American, Mexican
Diet Vegetarian
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 8 minutes
Total Time 13 minutes
Servings 2 quesadillas
Calories 534cal

Ingredients

  • ½ red bell pepper finely chopped
  • ½ yellow or green bell pepper* finely chopped
  • 1 small onion or half medium
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sliced green onions
  • 2 cups shredded cheese any kind
  • 4 small to medium tortillas flour or corn
  • Non-aerosol non-stick spray

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F while you prep your vegetables.
  • Tear off a piece of aluminum foil about the same size as your air fryer basket. Fold the edges to make a sort of “bowl” for your vegetables to go in. Add the peppers, onions, oil, taco seasoning, and salt and gently stir.
  • Cook in the air fryer for 5 minutes or until softened. Remove from the air fryer.
  • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with non-aerosol non-stick spray (you could also use parchment paper and save on the mess) and place one tortilla in.
  • Top the tortilla with layered toppings. Add ¼ of the cheese, ½ of the veggies, ½ of the finely sliced green onions, and then another ¼ of the cheese.
  • Place the second tortilla on top and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, peeking every now and then to ensure the edges aren't lifting too much. If they are, simply press the tortilla back down onto the cheese. (OPTIONAL: you can secure the two with a couple toothpicks to help them stay put)
  • Repeat with the remaining ingredients to form the second quesadilla. Remove from Air Fryer and serve hot.

Notes

*I like to use a couple of colors just for fun and variety. You can also just use one whole bell pepper.
  • Storage: Once your cooked quesadillas have completely cooled to room temperature, you can put them in an airtight container, or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: It’s best to reheat leftover quesadillas in a preheated Air Fryer (350 degrees). If your quesadilla is wrapped in foil, it’ll take about 3-5 minutes to reheat. Unwrapped, it will take around 2-3 minutes to heat through.

I don’t know what it is about fresh green beans, but I think I could eat them with any meal. This Air Fryer Green Beans recipe is one of my favorite ways to cook up a bag of fresh green beans.

This recipe is made with just four ingredients and takes under 15 minutes to whip up. It’s the perfect quick and easy way to incorporate veggies into any meal!

Plus, it’s easy to customize the seasonings so they suit whatever you’re having for dinner.

ingredients needed to make air fryer green beans.

Just four ingredients for the best green beans? Heck yes! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Green Beans: use fresh, trimmed beans for the perfect crisp-tender texture.
  • Oil: any cooking oil with a high smoke point will work.
  • Salt and Pepper: we’re keeping these air fried green beans super simple with just salt and pepper, but feel free to add other seasonings if you like.

How to Make Air Fryer Green Beans

These Air Fryer Green Beans are the best easy side dish. They’re ready in a total of 13 minutes! Full instructions in the recipe card below.

  1. Season: In a bowl, toss the green beans with oil and seasonings.
  2. Air fry: Place the green beans into the air fryer and air fry until crisp tender.

Air Fryer Green Beans FAQs

Are Air Fried Green Beans healthy?

Absolutely! This recipe is made with fresh green beans, a very small amount of oil, and a couple seasonings. Nothing bad here!

How long do you cook green beans?

You’ll cook the green beans for anywhere from 5-10 minutes in the air fryer, depending on how well-done you like them. I recommend checking at 5 minutes, then adding time as needed.

How to store:

Air Fried Green Beans are definitely best right away. However, if you do have leftovers they will last in an airtight container for 3-5 days. To reheat, warm either in the oven or back in the air fryer until heated.

tongs picking up roasted green beans from air fryer.

Tips and Notes

  • Use fresh green beans. The flavor and texture is just unmatched. You can air fry frozen green beans, but they won’t brown as nicely.
  • Line the basket. Lining the air fryer basket with foil or parchment paper is optional, but it does make cleanup super easy.
  • Toss in a bowl. You can toss the beans with the oil and seasonings in the air fryer basket, but I prefer to do it in a bowl so that the oil doesn’t drip through the rack before you have a chance to toss them.
  • Make more! This recipe is great because you can so easily double or triple it if you’re serving a crowd. If you do make extra, though, I recommend cooking in batches. Overcrowding the basket won’t cook the green beans properly.

Air Fryer Green Beans Variations

  • Add cheese. Add 1 tablespoon of freshly grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
  • Use other seasonings. Add ¼ teaspoon garlic powder with the salt and pepper.
  • Make them lemony. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with the oil before cooking, or squeeze some over the green beans after cooking.

Serving Suggestions

Not only is this recipe so easy, but it’s also so darn versatile! So serve it up with literally any of your favorite entrees!

I love it next to Lasagna, Air Fryer Burgers, Turkey Meatloaf, Shepherd’s Pie, you name it.

This Air Fryer Ravioli is a healthier version of a deep-fried comfort food. It’s made with fresh cheese ravioli coated in breading and air fried until golden and crispy.

Cheese ravioli is one of the best comfort foods!

Pasta is pretty great on its own, but stuff it with cheese and I am done.

Now, while I love my Baked Ravioli Recipe (really, any ravioli recipe!), this Air Fryer Ravioli recipe combines one of my favorite foods and one of my favorite kitchen appliances.

The result is ravioli with a warm, melty, cheesy middle and a delicious, golden, crispy exterior. It takes just 20 minutes to come together and it’s so darn good!

We like to serve these when we’re have appetizers for dinner, along with Spicy Baked Feta (Mpougiourdi), Taco Dip and Baked Chicken Wings!

Ingredients Needed:

ingredients needed for air fryer ravioli.
  • Eggs: eggs are used to coat the outside of the ravioli to help the breading stick and to create a delicious golden color.
  • Breadcrumbs: I recommend using Italian seasoned breadcrumbs for some extra flavor. If you don’t, you’ll want to add more seasonings yourself (Italian seasoning or any dried Italian herbs are great additions!)
  • Parmesan Cheese: a coating of parmesan adds delicious salty cheesiness. We can’t have too much cheese, right?!
  • Seasonings: a simple duo of Italian seasoning and salt gives this Fried Ravioli just the right amount of flavor.
  • Ravioli: use fresh cheese ravioli or frozen, thawed ravioli.
  • Oil Spray: be sure to use a non-aerosol cooking spray so as not to damage the coating on the air fryer basket.
  • Tomato Marinara Sauce: for serving!

How to Make Air Fryer Ravioli

This Air Fryer Ravioli is so deliciously crispy and satisfying, but takes just 10 minutes to prep!

  1. Prep the ingredients: In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs. In another, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and seasonings.
  2. Bread the ravioli: Coat the fresh ravioli first in eggs, then in the breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Repeat until all ravioli are coated.
  4. Air fry: Preheat the air fryer to 400ºF, then cook the ravioli in a single layer until golden.

Air Fryer Ravioli FAQs

Can you fry ravioli instead of boiling?

Absolutely! If you don’t have an air fryer and just want to make these on the stove top, you can fry them in about 1/2″ of oil — just enough to brown both sides.

Can you cook frozen ravioli in the air fryer?

Usually, yes. However, for this recipe, I don’t recommend using frozen ravioli. Since we’re using a breading, we want the ravioli to cook relatively quickly. If all you have is frozen ravioli, I recommend thawing before coating.

Can I prep fried ravioli in advance and freeze?

Definitely yes! This is a great party recipe that can be prepped (coated in bread crumbs) and flash frozen. Then place them all in a freezer bag and simply air fryer before serving. You may need to add a minute or two additional cook time.

How to store:

This Fried Ravioli is definitely best right away, but leftovers will last in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days. To reheat, warm back in the air fryer at 400ºF for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.

overhead image of air fryer ravioli on plate with tomato sauce.

Tips and Notes

  • Use fresh or thawed ravioli. Either will work, but fully frozen will not!
  • Preheat the air fryer. Make sure the air fryer is nice and hot before you add in the ravioli. If it’s heating up with the ravioli inside, the outsides can burn before the insides are cooked through.
  • Use a non-aerosol cooking spray. Cooking sprays containing aerosol can damage the coating on the air fryer basket.
  • Don’t over-crowd. Make sure that the ravioli is in a single layer in the air fryer basket before cooking. If it’s stacked, it won’t crisp up properly.
  • Serve immediately! For the best, crispy texture, serve your ravioli hot and fresh out of the air fryer!
  • Use another ravioli. I love the fresh cheese ravioli, but feel free to use ravioli with other fillings too!

Serving Suggestions

I love to serve this Fried Ravioli as a light lunch, dinner, or snack with a side of tomato marinara sauce for dipping.

Feel free to bulk this meal up with a side of Garlic Bread, Breadsticks, Roasted Green Beans, or a simple side salad.
